We work hard to make our admissions process as stress-free and welcoming as possible for everyone involved, because we appreciate that the 11+ and choosing a senior school can be a daunting prospect for girls and parents alike. We endeavour to provide you with as much information and insight as we can to support your decision making.

Visitors Most Welcome
Your first step on the admissions journey is to visit our School. In the first instance, families often find it helpful to attend one of our Open Events at some point in Year 5 or Autumn of Year 6, although some parents come along as early as Year 4 to take a first look. Our Senior School Headmistress gives a talk at such events and we often arrange for a Year 7 girl and a Year 7 parent to share their experiences of Notre Dame.
Please click on the 'Open Events' link to the left to see the dates of forthcoming events and to pre-register.
Following attendance at one of our Open Events, some families like to arrange an individual meeting and tour with our Headmistress, Mrs King, who is always delighted to welcome prospective families. We also hold a number of 'Meet The Head' events through out the year. Please contact our Admissions Manager for more information.
Challenge Day - September of Year 6
Students who have an interest in Year 7 are invited to a 'Challenge Day' in the September of Year 6 - for 2017 entry, this was held on 16th September 2017. It is not necessary to have submitted a Registration Form before the Challenge Day - the day is part of the process of girls getting to know us and it is not about us assessing the girls.
Bookings for the September 2018 Challenge Day (for girls joining Y7 in 2019) will open in June 2018 and can be made either via this website (click on Open Events) or by emailing email@example.com with your daughter's name, date of birth, address and current school to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do book early as spaces at this very popular event are limited.
Register by the November Deadline
All prospective students are required to register with the school using the form below, which should be returned to Beccy Johnson with a registration fee of £100 by the closing date of 12th November 2018 for September 2019 entry.

Once registered, we endeavor to give you as much insight into our school as possible to help with the decision making process. You will be invited to school events such as concerts and fairs and you will have acces to our weekly newsletter to give you a regular insight into school life.
The Selection Process
Entry into the Senior School in Year 7 is subject to all girls passing the Year 7 Entrance Examination that is held in the January of the year of entry. The Entrance Examination comprises English, Mathematics, Non-Verbal Reasoning and an Interview. We also make time for some fun activities on the examinations day so that girls can relax and get to know the other candidates.
Girls personally receive full details of what to expect on the exam day, including a personal timetable and Q&As. We find this really helps them to feel more relaxed on the day and many enjoy their time with us. A fundemental prinicple that runs through our entire school is that relaxed and happy girls give of their best and this is as true of the admissions process as it is anywhere else - we start our relationship with the girls as we mean to go on.
The Entrance Examination targets levels 4-6 of the National Curriculum.
For all applicants, we request a reference from a student's exisiting school.
Scholarships at 11+
Academic, Art, Music, Drama and Sport Scholarships are available at 11+. Candidates are required to submit the additional Scholarship Registration Form by the closing date of 12th November 2018.
Please click on the Scholarships link to find out more about scholarships.
Progression to the Senior School for Internal Notre Dame Candidates
For internal Notre Dame candiates progression to the Senior School is subject to assessment of progress over Years 4 and 5. Formal offers will be made at the end of Year 5, after which girls will not be required to sit the entrance exam unless they would like to apply for an academic scholarship. For all scholarship applications, the process for internal girls is the same as that for external girls and the closing date for registrations is 12th November 2018.

Feedback from Parents on our 11+ Admissions Procedure
"I'd like to feed back that [our daughter's] experience at Notre Dame throughout the exam/scholarship selection process has been exceptional. She has been challenged but has also thoroughly enjoyed herself, which has given us all such a positive impression of what the school is about."
"I just dropped my daughter off for the 11+ entrance exam and I just wanted to say how lovely and relaxed you made the process! Compared to some school exams, the girls were much more at ease and it was lovely having so many smiling faces to greet them when they arrive."
"I can confirm that [our daughter] was over the moon today - she has not stopped talking about her day at Notre Dame until she went to bed."
