GCSE Results
Following on from the outstanding A Level success of last week, Notre Dame Senior School continues to celebrate. Today's GCSE results show that 98% of our students gained at least five A* to C grades with almost 85% of all grades being A*, A or B.
Almost 20% of students gained 8 or more GCSE's at A* or A grade. Over 75% of our students achieved beyond expectation; we are delighted with these outcomes which show continuous improvement and which reflect the value that has been added where girls have achieved beyond their potential.
A Level Results
SENIOR SCHOOL GIRLS CELEBRATE!

It was Champagne, Bucks Fizz and croissants for breakfast this morning for the students collecting their A Level results.

Some of the girls were literally "star" performers, following the introduction of the new A* grades. Almost a quarter of all subjects gained A* grade and just under half of all the results were A or A*. We are proud of each girl and her individual success.
Notable achievements include Bethany Eastwood who has secured a place at Girton College, Cambridge to study Veterinary Medicine and the high percentage of students have gained places at the Russell group of leading universities.
The real success is the value that has been added for those girls who have achieved beyond their potential and prediction and gained their first choice university place in today's competitive climate.

Daddy and Daughter campout is a big hit
The closing event for the year was the ever-popular Daddy & Daughter Campout, when on Saturday July 10th the field was packed with tents of all shapes and sizes for this annual 'no rules' extravaganza.

While the dads enjoyed a cool beer, girls from Prep 2 to Year 7 cavorted around having the time of their lives. Not one electronic gaming device was in evidence, but there was plenty of rounders, giant football, hoopla spinning, rugby, table football, sleeping bag races, tug of war (rope broke again) toasting of marshmallows round the campfire and a sumptuous World Cup BBQ Feast, courtesy of Mandy and her ever-devoted catering team.

Highlight of the evening was an impromptu Talent Show, when girls (and dads) could voluntarily take to the stage and demonstrate their prodigious talent. It was quite clear that the new Performing Arts Centre is going to be put to good use.

Last of the hardy, stay-up-late campers finally turned in at well gone 2am, but were greeted with fresh bacon butties in the morning, so big thanks to the dads who helped with the breakfast.

The event raised a further £550 towards the PAC.

Ceremony of Achievement, Summer Concert and Prep 6 Lunch
Congratulations to all of the Junior girls on a wonderful celebration of all that has been achieved this year. Prizes were awarded across the year groups and special awards and cups were presented to our wonderful Prep 6 girls.

The summer concert was full of beautiful singing, wonderful orchestral playing and it finished with a bang from the percussion group!

The Prep 6 girls then enjoyed a delicious lunch outside on the terrace with their families and friends before presenting the school with a tree which was planted in the garden infront of the Summer House.

Finally, each girl received a special Year Book full of all of their memories!

Indian Summer Fair is Mighty Success
The entire Notre Dame community came together on Saturday 26th June for a truly memorable event, the Friends of Notre Dame Indian Summer Fair, and what a day it turned out to be.

Blessed with uninterrupted sunshine, the crowds flocked in greater numbers than ever before. With so much going on, for children and adults of all ages, the parents showed just what a special place Notre Dame is.
From bungee running, to bouncy castles, hook a duck to pony rides, tennis, golf and car washing, musical and choral concerts and the GCSE Art exhihibition there was plenty to see and do. The main focus of the Fair this year, though, was the Central Arena in which we all enjoyed displays of Bollywood Dancing, Martial Arts, our very own 'Notre Dame Commonwealth Games' and the return of the much-loved Dog Show.

Indeed, the Dog Show proved something of a hit, especially since we had a former Crufts top judge as special guest to pick the winners in a number of categories.

And with the weather hotter and sunnier than for many a year, the Pimm's Tent and Bar did a roaring trade (having to be replenished not once but three times!) and the BBQ served burgers and hot dogs all day long to complement the sumptuous Indian food being served in the Dining Room.

A huge thank you to all the helpers, visitors, staff, groundsmen, but especially to the organizing team who pulled off yet another fantastic event for all.

Notre Dame’s Sophie Plummer Wins Surrey’s Got Talent!
Having previously performed as a soloist at the Voice in a Million 02 event last January, the multi-talented teenager performed last weekend in front of a panel of judges including one of the country's top publicists, Max Clifford. Her performance of 'New York and Somebody to Love' medley at the Celebrating Surrey Festival in Loseley Park, near Guildford stunned the audience and judges on a scorching, sunny afternoon as she delivered a show stopping rendition of the song by playing the drums and singing at the same time. Sophie had won through following two rounds of voting including an online vote. To date she has had 33,000 views.

As the true professional that she is, Sophie followed her winning performance on the competition stage by running straight to the Main Stage to perform with the Voice In A Million singers.
