The Early Years at Notre Dame Preparatory
(for girls and boys aged 2¾ - 4)

BlueBelles Nursery is part of Notre Dame School, an independent Roman Catholic day school, owned by the Company of Mary Our Lady, which welcomes families of all faiths.

Notre Dame BlueBelles Nursery follows the curriculum guidance for the Foundation Stage, which prepares the girls and boys well for their future learning and development. After two years, most of our children progress to the Infant Department of the school, enabling us to take a long-term view of each child’s education.

Our children have their own classrooms and outdoor play areas but, as part of a whole school, they have access to a range of facilities and specialist teaching staff for music and French. The older children also have a weekly library session with the school librarian and enjoy swimming in the school pool with our swimming teacher. All these activities take place within the 17 acres of beautiful school grounds.

We believe that children, parents, the Sisters and staff are all members of our community and should have the opportunity to participate fully in the life of the school. We are committed to encouraging the individuality of every child and encouraging their moral and social development.

Our aims

  • To provide a warm, caring environment in which children can safely grow and develop

  • To plan a range of experiences which will challenge and motivate young children

  • To promote the development of the individual, yet encourage her/him to co-operate as a member of a larger group

  • To make the transition from home to the Early Years to full-time school as smooth and problem-free as possible
