Pastoral Care

One of Notre Dame School’s many strengths is the level of pastoral care applied and available to every single pupil in the school, from Nursery right through to the Sixth Form. In the spirit of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac, our foundress:

“We are all educators.....
accompanying young people in their efforts to build
their lives for today and tomorrow”

These words embody our mission

"The care devoted to the well-being and development of all pupils is outstanding, as is the quality of relationships. The school fully meets its aim of providing the highest quality pastoral care for their pupils."
2007 Independent Schools Inspectorate Report

“From the first moment that a student sets foot in a Catholic school, he or she ought to have the impression of entering a new environment, one illumined by the light of faith, and having its own unique characteristics ..."

Fr. Christopher Jamison

"We are all educators... accompanying young people in their efforts to build their lives for today and tomorrow."
St Jeanne de Lestonnac Founder of The Company of Mary Our Lady

"Excellent pastoral care in the quiet and positive atmosphere of the school supports pupils very well"
"Excellent planning, open-ended questioning and dynamic pace challenged pupils to use their knowledge, test their understanding, develop their thinking and maximise their potential"
"Considerable creative skills"

2011 Independent Schools Inspectorate Report

“Excellent leadership and management are reflected in the pupils’ outstanding overall achievement and personal development. The hallmark of the management is that nothing is left to chance, with meticulous attention to detail. Teamwork is of a high order.”

2011 ISI Inspection Report

“The pupils’ overall achievement from the EYFS onwards is outstanding and represents the successful fulfilment of the school’s aim to strive for personal academic excellence.”

2011 Independent Schools Inspectorate Report

2011 Independent Schools Inspectorate Report

“Teachers know their pupils well and care is taken to ensure that they build on what they have already learnt. The pupils’ successes are due, in large part, to the excellent teaching”.

2011 ISI Inspection Report

"The strong focus on the value of each individual enables pupils to grow rapidly in self-esteem and confidence"
"Pupils show consideration and respect for their teachers and for each other"
"Relationships throughout the school are warm and supportive"

2011 Independent Schools Inspectorate Report

"Relationships between staff and pupils, and amongst the pupils themselves, are excellent.   Parents appreciate the care provided for their children. Pupils are confident, caring and keen to celebrate the success of others. Pupils of all ages have outstandingly well-developed personal qualities.”
