Curriculum

Notre Dame covers an extended version of the National Curriculum in all core subjects and, as a Catholic school, Religious Studies form an important part of the core curriculum. All students also have weekly swimming, drama, music, art, and language lessons starting from the Early Years.

Early Years Curriculum

Each week’s activities, all based around the National Curriculum Foundation Stage, are planned to encompass the six recommended areas of learning:

    * Personal, social & emotional development
    * Communication, language & literacy
    * Mathematical development
    * Knowledge & understanding of the world
    * Physical development
    * Creative development - which includes specialist teaching of Music & French.

Our Early Years children have their own classrooms, ICT equipment and outdoor play area but as part of a whole school they also enjoy access to the swimming pool, sports hall and library. Our children also have weekly opportunities to explore the 17 beautiful acres of school grounds.

Infant and Junior Curriculum

The curriculum in the main Preparatory School is broad and varied, progressive and measurable, and covers all the standard National Curriculum Key Stage 1 and 2 subjects, along with complementary subjects to broaden your daughter's education still further. These include: Religion, English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, ICT, Art, Design Technology, French, PE, Swimming, Drama and Music.
