Coach Routes
Two incidents of strangers hassling older school girls have been brought to our attention in the locality of Hersham and Thames Ditton (before and after school). One was approached by a boy who threatened her but she was able to escape by using her wits and intelligence.
Please discuss this matter with your daughter as we will be doing in school. Please reinforce the message of ‘stranger danger’. We are strongly advising that coach girls are met at their drop off or walk home with a friend.
Update
Thanks to the presence of mind of our Notre Dame students and Ken, the Edward Thomas coach driver on Coach 2, a young man has been apprehended and is now with the Police. We are proud of our students and our driver for remaining calm and collected on the school coach whilst the police were called by our driver.
Many children come to school or go home by coach. The coach routes extensively cover the local area and are shown in detail below. Should you choose to make use of the Coach Service, please make a contingency plan in case you are delayed at the pick-up point. Many people make reciprocal arrangements with one another so that no child is ever left unsupervised at the pick-up point. The school should be notified in writing of any changes to daily arrangements.
