Research Websites

To all Notre Dame Researchers

Welcome to our easy access research platform.

Remember: Research is finding out all about something so that you become knowledgeable enough to answer the questions yourself!

  • Do use the links provided here
  • Do make a list of keywords before you start
  • Do remember the PLUS method to plan your research
  • Do write down the name of the website where you found the information (not the search engine that sent you there!!)
  • Do record your findings in bullet points, fact boxes, diagrams and mind maps
  • Do use ‘kids’ sites’ so that you understand the information you find
  • Don’t ever use Google, Wikipedia or Wiki-answers
  • Don’t type in your whole question, always use keywords
  • Don’t copy any information, always use your own words
  • Don’t bother with whole sentences for notes, but be neat – you need to be able to use them later!

Never be satisfied with something you don’t understand – ask someone to explain, or move onto the next place in your research list

Finally, research can be challenging, but don’t give up – the information is out there….

These links can help you with your research. They include special search engines for children and an encyclopedia.
