Success at Elmbridge Netball Tournaments
On Tuesday 21st February the Under 12 A + B netball teams took part in their respective Elmbridge District Netball Tournaments, held at Heathside School. It proved to be a successful afternoon for both teams, with some excellent netball being played.
The A team began very strongly, recording convincing 14-0 wins against both Heathside and Rydens; they then had to work considerably harder to beat Claremont 5-1 before finally coming up against a very strong St George’s College team. The Notre Dame team knew that the outcome of their match against St George’s would determine who became District champions and unfortunately on this occasion it was St George’s who triumphed by 8 goals to 2, but the team can feel pleased with their achievement at being Runners-Up.
The B team played well throughout their matches and displayed excellent teamwork and determination, they began with a strong 8-0 win against Rydens; this was followed by a very close match against St George’s in which Notre Dame managed to secure a 2-1 win, against Heathside the team won 10-0 and in their final match Notre Dame again won, this time against Claremont by 6 goals to 1. These four wins meant that our B team secured overall victory in their tournament and the girls were presented with medals and certificates for their efforts.
Congratulations to both teams. The girls participating and representing the school were:
‘A’ Team – Ciara Agnew (captain), Josie Hamill, Jasmin Monteiro, Lucy Withers, Millie Pattinson, Brianna Waring, Ella Eze
‘B’ Team – Rebecca Lee, Eleanor Hole, Ana Vincent, Olivia Faulkner, Laura Spalding, Marnie Nankeville, Carolina Bond, Molly Peters (captain).
