Upcoming Events Friday - 2 November 2018 Dear parents, a polite reminder that the classes need a clean and prompt start in the morning, and that ‘just catching’ staff as they come out to collect classes causes time to be lost at a critical point in the day. The Week @NotreDameCobham This half term, the Sixth Form were treated with the fantastic opportunity to visit Washington DC and New York City. 16 Notre Dame girls & 15 Halliford Boys and their teachers, all flew off very early in the morning to Bordeaux for the French Exchange in Bayonne! Congratulations to Leila Moloney (Year 8) and Abigail Webb on receiving post from Buckingham Palace containing their Bronze iDEA award certificates. In Latin, we made a Roman villa/house. It was a fun D&T project, but we also learnt about the rooms that they would have in those times. A group of year 10 and 11 Spanish GCSE had the privilege of attending Southampton university to learn about the Mexican festival of, El día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Lavery (Williams) on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby girl Monday morning at 3am. Butterflies have been busy making and decorating crowns this week. They have also been learning how to bake! Preparing the Year 6 garden for planting. We have been weeding, pruning and turning the soil. 82 girls in the Bordeaux and Lestonnac Choirs from Years 3 to 6 had a wonderful experience at the opening ceremony for the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park Race Course on Tuesday 16 October. Just before half term the Year 11 GCSE Geography students went to Shropshire on a fieldtrip. On Wed 10 October we welcomed back alumna Laura Appleton who left in 2014 to speak to the Medical Society. 7-3 Biology have been hard at work making models of cells. November starts with the Feast of All Saints, a Holy Day for all Catholics where we celebrate the lives and the work of all the Saints.
Sports Board During the six day tour the sixteen Year 10 & 11 players intermixed in two squads and enjoyed the challenges of three matches against very varied opposition.
