Forest School & Outdoor Learning

Children have the opportunity to take part in Forest School sessions once a week. This is a woodland based learning environment which gives our younger children the chance to explore and learn in our wonderful grounds.

At Notre Dame Forest School our aim is to build on the children’s motivation and positive attitude to learning.  We want our pupils to engage with the outdoors and foster a love, respect, understanding and responsibility for our environment. Our pupils are offered opportunities through practical activities, to take beneficial risks whilst building on their decision making, creative thinking and problem solving skills. 

During our Forest School sessions the children continue to cover all of the areas of learning within our enhanced curriculum. They play outside in woodlands, take part in child led initiated activities, listen to stories, sing songs and explore.
