Year Entry Points

Our normal entry points are Reception, Year 3, Year 7 (11+), Year 9 (13+) and Sixth Form.

We accept students at entry points throughout the school, where spaces are available.

Our entrance process includes an assessment, review of a reference and school reports from the candidate’s current school and in our Prep School, this includes a taster visit. Whilst Notre Dame is an academically selective school, the assessment is in place to ensure that girls would sit comfortably within their cohort, be happy and thrive with us here at Notre Dame. Our Year 5 and 6 candidates are further assessed to ensure they would meet our entry requirements for our Senior School. Details for each entry point assessments will be confirmed on registration.

Our Reception class is a single form entry which benefits from remaining within our Early Years Learning Centre and sees half of the cohort join us from our co-educational nursery. There is no formal assessment for Reception but students are invited to visit our Wise Owls Nursery class with their parent. Enquire or Register
Year 3 is one of our usual entry points and we often increase to two form entry to accommodate the new intake. Enquire or Register

Our Notre Dame 11+ process ensures a seamless and stress-free experience with our ‘725 Programme’ designed for families interested in a place in our Senior School for entry in September 2025. Our ‘725 Programme’ offers key information and invites to events which guide you and your daughter through each stage of the process.

Information and registration is available on our Year 7 Admissions Page.

Candidates who wish to take up a place in Year 9 (13+) will sit at the 11+ entry point and defer their place. We do not hold Common Entrance Exams in Year 8.

Enquire or Register

Candidates interested in joining our Sixth Form are encouraged to read our prospectus outlining all that is on offer in ‘ND6’, from our academic philosophy and the detail of individual courses, to co-curricular and extra-curricular provision and pastoral support. It also has details of general entry requirements and each subject page includes details of subject requirements. Our Sixth Form page has further information about entry to the Sixth Form.
