She did it! With a spectacular goal against Andover New Street Ladies, Alumna Izzy Woodger took Farnborough Women’s FC to victory and an unprecedented third trophy this season!
Izzy, 19, who learned her footballing skills at Notre Dame and plays in centre midfield, admits she has been floating on air since the match on May 25, which secured the Hampshire County Women’s Football League Cup. It followed an outstanding season in which the team, which was only founded in 2023, also won the Hampshire County Women’s Football League Division 1 and retained the Hampshire FA Women’s Trophy – a remarkable achievement.
The trophies were presented to Farnborough FC Women in a special ceremony earlier this week and add to the two trophies won in the team’s inaugural season last year. Our warmest congratulations to Izzy who, with her team-mates, is now preparing for promotion to the Southern Region Women’s Football League, the next tier in women’s football.
