This week’s assembly was all about Father’s Day.
The girls learnt about the history of this special day, which began in America almost 100 year ago.
A celebration of Father’s Day was started by a lady called Sonora Smart Dodd. She didn’t have a mummy so her dad looked after her and 5 brothers and sisters all on his own. Sonora had a super idea! She asked the Pastor at her church if they could have a Fathering Sunday to celebrate dads. During the church service, all the children handed out red roses to their dads.
Today Father’s Day is celebrated all around the world. Happy Father’s Day to all dads, father figures, grandads, uncles, brothers this Sunday!
Congratulations to this week’s Stars of the Week
