Guitar Soirée Celebrates Mr. Mitchell’s 30 Years at Notre Dame
Congratulations to Mr Mitchell on his wonderful 30th Anniversary Soirée for his guitar pupils. It was a fantastic tribute to his years of dedicated tuition with 8 soloists and 2 ensembles marking Mr Mitchell’s 30th year of teaching at Notre Dame.
The Prep and Senior guitar ensembles performed ‘The Bare Necessities’ and ‘Mr Mitchell’s arrangement of Antonio Ruis Pipo’s Danza no1’ with confidence and enthusiasm, clearly reflecting the care, humour and consistency of their teacher’s approach. The highlight of the concert was Mr. Mitchell’s own solo performance of ‘Capricho árabe by Francisco Tarrega’, a rare treat that reminded everyone of the depth of experience and colour behind his teaching.
It was a relaxed and enjoyable hour, celebrating not just the music, but the steady, lasting impact of a teacher who’s guided and inspired many students over the years. Thank you once again to Mr Mitchell for all he has done for his pupils at Notre Dame, and congratulations to all the players on their superb performances
Many thanks, and well done again to Mitch and all the girls.
