Year 8 Raising Awareness Exhibition
Year 8 PHSE students have been learning about global issues including the environmental impact of plastic pollution, fast fashion and global warming. They were set the challenge of creating their own ‘raising awareness’ exhibition.
They had to work in small groups and create a piece of art using recycled materials and an accompanying information poster about their exhibit. The purpose of the project was to repurpose waste materials and highlight an environmental issue including carbon footprints, plastic pollution and fast fashion.
The first step of the challenge was to draw out a design of what their art piece would look like, think of the materials they wanted to find and source to create their exhibit. Then they had to collect the resources from school or home e.g. any spare textile materials or plastic or recyclable goods. Then they created their pieces in the PHSE lessons.
The girls did an incredible job and their exhibits have been on display in the new science corridor for everyone to see. Well done Year 8 on a fabulous ‘Raising Awareness at Notre Dame’ environmental exhibition.
