Owls

We demonstrated using a flint and steel to create a spark to set alight cotton wool in a clam shell. We ensured we had the resources available to put out the fire before creating the fire and we talked about how the water would take the heat from the fire and how the fire blanket would take the oxygen from the fire. The children were given the opportunity to feel the texture of the materials and were shown how fire gloves help to keep us safe protecting our hands when handling fire.

We also explored the flora and fauna with the changing colours of Autumn and made some beautiful nature bracelets.

Reception

The Reception girls developed their drilling technique this week using a palm drill with the wood slices they sawed off last week.
