STEM in Action: Year 5 Explore Gravity Across the Solar System!

This week in Year 5 Science, our budding scientists have been diving into the fascinating world of gravity. Through an engaging STEM activity called Gravity Jump, students discovered that while gravity exists on all planets and moons, its strength varies depending on the mass of each celestial body. After measuring how high they could jump on Earth, they calculated how high they’d soar on other planets and moons — from a gentle hop on Jupiter to a giant leap on the Moon! A brilliant blend of physics, maths, and imagination brought the lesson to life.

Science Ambassadors Get Creative with Colour!

Prep Science Ambassadors

Our Science Ambassadors kicked off their first hands-on training session this week with a burst of colour and curiosity! Using a fun fizzer-style experiment, they explored how mixing colours can create a beautiful rainbow effect. This vibrant activity not only sparked excitement but also helped ambassadors build confidence in leading practical science with younger pupils. A fantastic start to their ambassador journey — full of fizz, fun, and future inspiration!

Year 4 STEM Club: Air, Engineering & Explosions!

Over the past few weeks, Year 4 STEM Club have been busy exploring the science of air and tackling exciting engineering challenges. They investigated Bernoulli’s Principle and used their creativity to design and build imaginative structures!

Their structures can be seen on Firefly by clicking on the following LINK
