🧠 Squid Brains and Human Brains: More Alike Than You’d Think!
Did you know that human brains and squid brains develop in the same way, even though we diverged from them over 500 million years ago?
In a fascinating discovery, scientists observed how nerve cells connect inside the eyes of growing squid and found that cephalopods (like squids) have evolved complex brains that develop just like ours. Despite being such different creatures, the blueprint for building a brain seems to be surprisingly universal.
This research shows that intelligent life can evolve in very different forms, but still follow similar patterns when it comes to brain development.
