Sports Day 2025 – A Day of Fun, Flexibility, and Fantastic Effort!

This year’s Sports Day was one to remember – not just for the incredible enthusiasm shown by our pupils, but also for the way we came together to adapt to the summer heat. Due to high temperatures, we made the decision to relocate the event to our school grounds, ensuring pupils remained safe while still enjoying a full day of sporting activities.

Our revised Sports Day schedule gave all pupils the opportunity to take part in both indoor and outdoor sessions, providing a well-balanced and enjoyable experience for everyone. Pupils took part in two sessions outside—a Track session and a Field session—as well as two sessions indoors, which offered a welcome break from the sun.

On the Track, every pupil gave their all in both the sprint and the relay, showing great determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. It was fantastic to see such high levels of energy and support from teammates and staff alike.

In the Field session, pupils had the chance to showcase their skills in a range of events including shot putt, javelin, discus, ball throw, long jump, and high jump. Each child participated with enthusiasm and tried their best, many achieving personal bests and demonstrating impressive technique and effort.

Indoors, pupils enjoyed two different sessions. The first was a House Banner Making Competition, where creativity and house spirit were on full display. In the Year 7 & 8 category, Montaigne House took the win with their eye-catching design and teamwork. In the Year 9 & 10 category, Lestonnac House came out on top with a bold and original banner that captured the spirit of the day.

The second indoor session saw pupils inspired by the achievements of long-distance running legend Mo Farah, as they watched the powerful documentary ‘No Easy Mile’. It was a great opportunity for reflection on dedication, resilience, and the journey behind sporting greatness.

At the end of a fantastic day filled with energy, creativity, and teamwork, it was Montferrant House who were crowned the overall winners of Sports Day 2025 – a huge congratulations to them!

The atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant, with smiles, cheers, and encouragement echoing across the school. Despite the change in location, our Sports Day spirit was stronger than ever. A big thank you to all staff for their support and flexibility, and a special well done to all the pupils for their fantastic participation.
