U14’s Netball v Claremont 16 October

Firstly I would like to thank the captains of all 3 teams for their leadership and diligence both on and off the court. Netball and sport is about so much more than just playing the game and I have been particularly impressed this week with co-captains Lexi H and Isabella H, Alice H and Heidi G, thank you all for your commitment to netball and Notre Dame, it is notice and appreciated.

A Team

A very tight contest of netball played at a very high standard from the starting whistle to the end of the 4th quarter!! Both teams displayed some excellent competitive netball of a great standard.

The match was tied 3 – 3 at the end of the first quarter, 7 all at half time, 11 all at three quarter time so it was all to play for in the last minutes of the match!

Staying so very close to each other, both Claremont and Notre Dame displayed some great netball and both teams worked really well together.

With literally seconds left, Notre Dame took the ball to goal and scored, the final whistle going shortly afterwards leaving the score 14 – 13 as a win for us!!

Definitely going to be some more fixtures between these two teams, well done to players in both sides for a great match.

Our B Team faced a strong Claremont side this week. Despite putting in a determined effort, we struggled without any substitutions and ultimately fell short with a 0–31 loss. The team showed resilience and teamwork throughout a challenging game. Hannah and Heidi stood out for their outstanding effort, earning Players of the Match.
C Team

Our u14 C team played well together against a strong Claremont C team with the match going the away team’s way 9-1. The score however did not always reflect the effort of the Notre Dame players and their success at gaining turnover ball from Claremont. A great team effort. Lots of learning to take from the match when we get into our main netball term of Spring!

Player of the Match was Olivia K.
