Netball Trip – Year 7s at Condover Hall, Shrewsbury
Our Year 7 girls had a fantastic weekend away at Condover Hall, combining netball and adventure in equal measure.
We arrived on Friday afternoon, and the girls wasted no time making the most of the activities on offer. From leaping off the trapeze to tunnelling underground and battling it out in laser tag, they threw themselves into every challenge with enthusiasm.
On Saturday, despite the rain, we headed to the local sports village where the girls played five matches. It was very much a day of finding our feet on the netball court, learning to work together as a team and building confidence in competitive play. The wet weather brought us back to base earlier than expected, but spirits stayed high. The girls enjoyed axe throwing, archery, and other exciting onsite activities before dancing the night away at both the loud disco and the silent disco.
After a much needed night’s rest, Sunday brought sunshine and the second day of the tournament. This time, the girls really stepped up, we saw more goals scored, sharper play, and huge progress in their teamwork. The experience gave them a real boost as they look ahead to the upcoming netball season.
A highlight of the day was having Brie from Super League’s Nottingham Forest watch the girls play. She was impressed with the commitment shown and awarded special recognition to Dorthe and Valentina for their progress and strong performances across both days.
Most importantly, the girls were wonderfully supportive of one another throughout the weekend. They showed great team spirit, cheered each other on, and built stronger bonds, a brilliant early step in their journey together as a school team.
We are very proud of all of them for their effort, attitude, and positivity both on and off the court
