The 1st of October marks the beginning of Black History Month in the UK.
The Year 13 History Society students delivered a fantastic assembly to the Senior School which provided an overview of the importance of the month and also introduced the Senior School to the research task on the blue plaque recipients and to the incredible couple, William and Ellen Craft, who escaped slavery in Georgia and successfully travelled to Pennsylvania, Liverpool and Ockham!

This week students in Years 6 and 7 had the wonderful opportunity to attend a workshop on African storytelling with Lucky Moyo from Inspire Works.
Next week students in Year 8 will get the opportunity to try West African drumming and in the following week Year 9 will have a session on South African gumboot dancing.
We look forward to seeing all the research projects and exciting lessons and activities taking place throughout October!
