Infant Good Work Assembly February 23rd

Infant Good Work Assembly

๐ŸŒพ Infant Assembly: Ramadam

Infant Assembly - Ramadam

This weekโ€™s Infant Assembly focused on Ramadan, an important and meaningful time in the Islamic calendar.

Miss Sargeant introduced the topic by explaining that Ramadan lasts for 29โ€“30 days and is observed by followers of Islam, who are called Muslims. She shared that Muslims believe in one God, known as Allah, and that Ramadan takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

Miss Sargeant also explained that Muslims believe the Qurโ€™an, the holy book of Islam, was revealed during this special month. The girls were encouraged to think about some of the ways Muslims observe Ramadan. Together, they explored key practices such as giving up bad habits, spending time in prayer, reading the Qurโ€™an, and fasting from sunrise to sunset.

At the end of each day, after sunset, families come together to enjoy iftar, the shared meal that breaks the fast. The assembly also touched on Eid al-Fitr, the joyful festival that marks the end of Ramadan.

To finish, the girls watched a short video summarising the seven things everyone should know about Ramadan, helping them reflect on the importance of respect, understanding, and learning about different cultures and beliefs.

Congratulations to this week’s Stars of the Week and winner of the ‘Living Life To The Full’ Certificate.

A special welcome to sisters Luella and Summer who joined us this week!
