Infant Good Work Assembly

🌾 Infant Assembly: This is My Place – Children’s Mental Health Week 2026

Children's Mental Health Week 2026 - This is My Place

The Infant Department gathered this afternoon to celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, focusing on this year’s theme: “This Is My Place.”

Miss Harris opened the assembly by exploring the idea of belonging and how it feels when we know we are accepted, noticed, and valued. To bring this to life for the children, she shared a touching story about a shy yellow bird named Sunny.

Sunny often felt left out and unsure of himself. But when someone noticed him and showed a small act of kindness, Sunny began to smile. That simple moment helped him feel braver and reminded him that he did belong.

Miss Harris then invited the girls to think about how they can help others feel included. She offered practical, age‑friendly tips—

Say hello to someone on their own
Share a toy, crayon, or game
Invite someone new to join their group

She reminded everyone that small, friendly actions make big changes. When each of us chooses kindness, our classrooms and playgrounds become places where everyone feels welcome and part of the community.

The assembly closed with a simple but powerful message:

Belonging starts with each one of us.

Congratulations to this week’s Stars of the Week and winner of the ‘Living Life To The Full’ Certificate.
