This week’s assembly was all about World Sea Turtle Day.
Miss Sargeant explained that World Sea Turtle Day is an event held every year on 16th June.
It is a day to celebrate and think about the importance of sea turtles in our world.
There are a number of threats that sea turtles face.
Developments along coastlines, often for tourism, can damage habitats that sea turtles use for nesting. The increase of the number of humans in tourist locations can also increase the amount of water pollution and mean that obstacles – such as beach chairs – can get in the way of hatchlings reaching the water.
Congratulations to this week’s Stars of the Week
