Swimming Round-Up: A Week of Success for Notre Dame

It has been an incredibly busy and successful week in the pool for Notre Dame swimmers!

We opened the week with a competitive gala against St Catherine’s, featuring teams from Years 7–11. The girls swam brilliantly across all age groups, securing strong individual and team wins—a fantastic start to a week of racing!

On Wednesday, a smaller team travelled to Wimbledon to compete in the ESSA Super League. Our Notre Dame swimmers teamed up with the boys from Reed’s School and delivered outstanding performances, winning numerous races. We are now eagerly looking forward to Round 2.

Later in the week, we took part in the ACS International Gala on Thursday and Friday. The Lower School (Years 7–9) impressed throughout, finishing 2nd overall and proudly bringing home a beautiful trophy. Our relay teams also shone, securing gold and silver medals in the front crawl and medley events. Congratulations to Ava T, Erin S, Darcey C, Lucy P, and Amelia H for their relay success!

Individual achievements were equally impressive, with Martha T, Lucy D, Ciara S, Ava T, Erin S, and Alex B bringing home gold, silver, and bronze medals in their races.

We rounded off the week with another gala against Manor House, where our Year 7–11 swimmers continued the momentum with strong swims and well-deserved wins.

A fantastic week in the pool—well done to all involved!

The Senior team faced St Teresa’s in a closely fought match that was far tighter than the 4–1 score line suggests. The girls played with real determination and put together some excellent passages of play throughout.

With the low sun proving challenging in the first half, Alexia battled bravely in goal despite the difficult visibility, making several important saves to keep the team in contention.
A huge positive from the game was the outstanding contribution of our two Year 9 players, Poppy and Lexi, who stepped up for their first ever senior fixture and performed with confidence and maturity well beyond their years.

Both Sophia B. and Sophia N. delivered superb displays, earning well-deserved Players of the Match recognition for their hard work, composure, and consistency on the pitch.
