National Schools Biathlon Finals – Event Report

Last weekend, an impressive group of girls from Years 4, 5, 7, and 13 represented the school at the National Schools Biathlon Finals. Qualifying for this event is a significant achievement, with hundreds of competitors entering the earlier qualifying rounds. Each of our athletes performed with determination, composure, and great competitive spirit.

Although there were a few moments of organisational chaos on the day, the girls adapted brilliantly, delivering strong efforts in both the run and the swim. Even though I wasn’t able to attend in person, it certainly sounded like the team had an exciting and rewarding experience from start to finish.

U10 & U11 Girls Football vs Holy Cross – Match Report

Our U10 and U11 girls took to the field this week in a mixed-age series of matches against Holy Cross, displaying fantastic determination, teamwork, and plenty of exciting footballing talent. Across all three fixtures, the girls showed real progress in their play, moving the ball confidently and demonstrating great skill throughout.

A Team
The A team played an energetic and competitive match, creating several excellent chances and showing real attacking flair. Despite their efforts, they narrowly lost 3–2 in a closely contested game. Their teamwork and resilience were clear to see, and they continued battling right until the final whistle.

B Team
Much like the A team, the B team also produced a strong performance, with some impressive dribbling, passing combinations, and determined defending. In another tight match, they too were edged out 3–2, but the quality of play from the girls was a real highlight.

C Team
The C team worked incredibly hard across the pitch and were rewarded with a well-earned 0–0 draw. Their organisation, effort, and positive attitude ensured a solid performance, and they showed excellent progress in their match play.

Overall, it was a fantastic afternoon of football, with every player contributing to an enjoyable and competitive set of fixtures. Well done to all the girls for representing the school so brilliantly and showing such enthusiasm and sportsmanship. We look forward to seeing their continued development in the matches ahead!

There were several closely contested fixtures, with the team showing excellent resilience and composure in tight moments.
