Love Art?
Do you enjoy creating art in your own time? Why not enter a piece into the Royal Academy Summer Show?
This is a competition run by the Royal Academy of Art in London. Students from across the country submit digital images of their artwork. These are judged by experts, and if your work is chosen it becomes part of an online exhibition. Some entries are even displayed in the Royal Academy gallery in central London.
You may remember that Sienna’s work High as a Pine was selected last year.
This is a competitive event and there are no prizes, but to be chosen for the online exhibition is a huge achievement. It is rather like winning an art Oscar and it is very easy to enter:
- Give your chosen piece of art a name.
- Take a clear, good quality photo of the artwork. If you cannot do this at home, bring the piece into school and ask your art teacher to help.
- Email the photo to artcompetition@notredame.co.uk.
- Please include the title of the piece, its size, the materials you used, and a few sentences about why and how you created it and what you think of the finished piece.
- We will take care of the rest.
If you are lucky enough to be shortlisted, we will let you know.
Good luck!
