🏑 Senior Hockey Season Report
This has been an exceptionally busy and successful season for Senior Hockey, packed with competitive fixtures, player development, and outstanding commitment across all year groups.
A Season of Tournaments
Over the course of the term, our seniors took part in 13 tournaments, demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and growing confidence throughout. We were also proud to host four of our own tournaments, providing valuable opportunities for our teams to gain experience on home turf. In addition, we hosted two Surrey tournaments, competing with determination against strong opposition.
An Impressive Fixture List
The season calendar included 48 scheduled matches, a testament to the strength and depth of our hockey programme. Remarkably, only 8 fixtures were cancelled or moved to next term, despite a challenging spell of weather. This allowed our players to gain extensive match experience and enjoy consistent competitive play.
Goals, Goals, Goals
Across all fixtures (excluding tournaments), the senior teams scored a phenomenal 119 goals, showcasing clinical finishing and excellent attacking play. The Year 7s contributed 33 goals, an outstanding achievement for our newest players and a promising sign for the future of senior hockey.
Our top goal scorer across the entire school was Emily H in the Sixth Form, finishing the term with an impressive 11 goals (not including tournaments). Emily’s consistency and sharpness in front of goal have been a real asset to the senior squad.
Representation
We have had girls gaining success this year outside of school with Sophia B, Emily H, Freya S being selected for their presentative counties. We also had girls trial with Issy M and Poppy H making it through to the second round of Surrey trails, Caludia P, Ella K, Emily L and Lily complete the first stage of trials. Along with this Issy M, Sophia B, Sophia N, Emily H and Freya S went for Talent Academy Trials.
We would love to encourage as many girls to join their local clubs to help their development and there are plenty to choose from within our area: Wimbledon, Old Georgians, Old Cranleighans, Epsom, Guildford, Surbiton just to name a few.
This season has highlighted the commitment of our players, the growing strength of our teams, and the depth of our hockey programme. Well done to all involved—players, coaches, and supporters—for making it a memorable and successful term. 🏑👏
