Pro League Hockey Trip

On Tuesday with the start of the heatwave the girls slapped on their suncream and headed round the M25 to Lee Valley Hockey Centre. The girls arrived and got in full voice for the national anthem as the England Ladies lined up to face Australia. It was great that the girls could see the likes of Becky Manton and Flora Peel play after their visits to the school this year. And what better way to top off the day with Becky scoring the winner in the 1-0 victory. At the end of the game the girls went off with excitement with the opportunity finding out which players play for their local clubs as well.

Game 2 saw the English men take to the field against world champions Holland. 12 our of girls were also lucky enough to be flag bearers for the FIH Pro League flag on the pitch. The game was a one sided first half with the Dutch men taking a 3-0 lead. The second half England managed to get a goal back and in the final quarter took the risk of taking their goal keeper off and playing with 11 outfielders, a great tactical talking point between the girls. This worked well as they got a second goal and were pushing for the 3rd but unfortunately ran out of time. Again the men’s team came around and the girls managed to get plenty of autographs and photos with the players of both teams.

We then had one last game to watch, Argentina vs India women, both such skillful teams. Again 12 more girls were lucky to flag bear on the pitch for this game. The game did not disappoint with the flair on show, we saw Argentina take the lead and just before the half time Indian managed to get a equaliser with the game ending in a draw.

The walk back to the bus the girls were absolutely buzzing, showing us all their autographs and selfies they had got with the players, and how some of them play at the same club, or they were going to ask their parents if they could go along to a club. What a day!!!

If your daughter is interested in joining a club and you are not sure which is your most local please get in touch with Ms Jelley.

U12 A vs Downsend 18.06.25

Senior Cricket Placeholder

Result: Lost – 283 to 279 runs

On a scorching summer afternoon at Notre Dame, the U12sA team took to the field for their final match of the season against Downsend. The game proved to be a thrilling contest, with just 4 runs separating the two sides in a nail biting finish.

Unfortunately, a few too many wides proved decisive. Three extra wides conceded allowed Downsend the slight edge they needed, and a brief lapse in focus ultimately cost us the match. A hard lesson, but one that comes with the game.

There were, however, many positives to celebrate. Darcey was named Batter of the Match for her confident and composed innings. Georgie and Georgia also made a strong contribution with the bat, scoring a combined 25 runs, another impressive showing from this reliable pair.

With the ball, Lily earned Bowler of the Match for her accuracy and control. Amy also delivered an outstanding performance, keeping the opposition’s scoring rate low through disciplined bowling, her most efficient spell yet. It’s clear that all her hard work has truly paid off.

Though it wasn’t the result we hoped for, it was a great way to round off the season, a close match that showcased the team’s progress and spirit. The U12As have come a long way this year and should be proud of their development and determination.

Well done, U12s, on a fantastic season!
