Match Report: U14 Hockey – ND vs Surbiton

The ND U14 girls faced a formidable Surbiton side in what proved to be an exciting and challenging encounter. From the first whistle, Surbiton showcased their strength and skill, putting the ND defense under pressure early on. Despite their best efforts, ND conceded two goals in the first half.

However, the second half told a different story. The ND team regrouped brilliantly, demonstrating resilience and determination. Their defensive structure tightened, and they worked tirelessly to close down spaces and disrupt Surbiton’s attacking rhythm. This improvement was clear as they allowed only one goal in the second half—a testament to their progression and fighting spirit.

Although the final scoreline favored Surbiton, the ND girls can take immense pride in their performance. Their ability to adapt and improve throughout the match highlights their potential and teamwork. A fantastic effort against a very strong opponent!

Match Report: U1st XI & 2nd XI vs Gordon’s

On Wednesday, both the ND U1st XI and 2nd XI faced a strong Gordon’s side in what proved to be two competitive and hard-fought matches. From the outset, Gordon’s demonstrated their quality, but the ND girls rose to the challenge with determination and teamwork.

Despite the final results not going in ND’s favor, both teams created several scoring opportunities and showed great attacking intent. Unfortunately, the finishing touch eluded them, and they were unable to find the back of the net. Defensively, the girls worked tirelessly to contain Gordon’s, and their resilience was evident throughout.

A special mention goes to Year 10 Izzy, who stepped up to play in goal for the match—an outstanding effort and a true example of team spirit.

While the scoreline didn’t reflect the effort and commitment shown, the ND squads can be proud of their performance and the fight they put up against tough opposition. Plenty of positives to build on for the next fixtures!

U16 Netball Team v Manor House

The A Team delivered an excellent performance in their match against Manor House, showcasing strong teamwork, composure and confident communication throughout the game. From the first whistle, the girls worked cohesively, supporting one another on and off the ball. Playing against a younger age group, allowed the team greater freedom to demonstrate a wide range of skills. They took advantage of this opportunity displaying hard passing, effective movement into space and accurate shooting. Defensively, the girls applied consistent pressure, making it difficult for the opposition to progress up the court.

This resulted in a well deserved 26 – 2 victory.
