ND 2nd XI Shine in Third Tournament of the Year

The ND 2nd XI delivered a stellar performance in their third tournament of the year, continuing the winning streak that has defined their season so far. Under the enthusiastic leadership of Miss Jelley, who has been successfully hosting weekly tournaments, the team showcased exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork.

In a tightly contested tournament, Gordons edged out Freemen’s with a narrow 1–0 victory, demonstrating strong defence and composure. However, Gordons faced a tough challenge against Notre Dame, falling 3–2 in a thrilling match that highlighted ND’s fighting spirit and attacking flair. Notre Dame then went on to convincingly beat Freemen’s 4–0, proving why they were a formidable contender throughout the day.

Their hard work paid off as they triumphed in all their matches, earning well-deserved gold medals. The tournament was a testament to their resilience and steady progression through each game, setting a high standard for the rest of the season.

Special congratulations to Sophia B, who was named Player of the Tournament for her outstanding performance.

Sports Posts 1st X1 Hockey v St Georges

Despite the scoreboard remaining untouched, Team Notre Dame delivered a performance full of intensity, precision, and relentless pressure in their latest fixture against St George’s. From the first whistle, ND dominated possession and peppered the opposition’s goal with a barrage of shots, even striking the post. Their attacking intent and tactical discipline were clear throughout, with the forwards creating numerous scoring opportunities through slick passing combinations and aggressive forechecking.

In a hard-fought 0–0 draw, the opposition’s goalkeeper stood out with a series of incredible saves, denying ND at every turn. Yet, it was Notre Dame’s own defensive strength that truly shone. Their composure and resilience under pressure ensured a clean sheet, proving their ability to hold firm against a very attacking side.

The team’s cohesion and energy were evident across all areas of the pitch, and while the result didn’t reflect the dominance shown, ND will take plenty of positives from the performance as they prepare for their next challenge.

It was interesting for me to see an old friend and adversary working with Prior’s Field, Ms Connie Francis ex-Jamaican Goal Attack when I was playing netball for England!!

U16 A – a tough game against really strong competition. The last 3 quarters of the game reflected the development that the team are showing where the difference was only by 2 in Prior’s Field’s favour, a great achievement. A slow start though in the match meant that overall it was a win to PF 30-19.

Most Valuable Player as voted by the opposition was Bella M.

Important Reminder for Netball Players and Parents

We’d like to kindly remind all students selected to represent Notre Dame in netball fixtures that it is essential to inform both your team captain and Mrs Hook at least 48 hours in advance if you are unable to play.

This notice period is crucial to ensure we can honour our commitment to the opposing school and make sure our team is fully prepared. Unfortunately, we’ve recently had several late withdrawals, sometimes the night before a match, which leaves us unable to offer the opportunity to another player and risks the team being short.

We would be grateful if parents could help reinforce this message at home. Being selected to play for Notre Dame is both a privilege and an honour, and we appreciate your support in upholding the standards and spirit of our school teams.

Thank you for your cooperation.
