Year 1 Become Palaeontologists in an Exciting Outdoor Learning Adventure
On Tuesday, Year 1 enjoyed a very special Outdoor Learning session that transported them back to the time of the dinosaurs! The morning began with an impressive display of dinosaur knowledge, as the girls wowed Mrs Maltby with everything they had learned.
The adventure continued at the top of the Forest School area, where Mrs Maltby had prepared a fantastic dinosaur dig. Using tools and brushes, the girls carefully uncovered buried “fossils” and worked together to reconstruct a dinosaur skeleton. For a moment, they truly felt like real palaeontologists, just like Mary Anning!
To end this exciting morning, Mrs Maltby lit a small forest fire for the children to gather around, adding a warm and atmospheric finish to a memorable experience.
A wonderful morning of learning, teamwork and imagination for our budding scientists!
