Step Back in Time with Year 1!
On Tuesday, Year 1 travelled to Holly Lodge in Richmond for a real-life Victorian classroom experience! We were greeted by the formidable Mrs Sawyer, who made sure our hands were spotless—after all, “Cleanliness is as important as Godliness!”
Once inside, we swapped modern pens for slates and chalk, practiced our 10 times tables, and discovered what school was like over 100 years ago. But it wasn’t all hard work, there was plenty of fun too! We played traditional games like Five Stones and I Sent a Letter to My Love, laughing all the way.
It was a brilliant morning of history and play, but one thing’s for sure… we’re very glad to be back in the 21st century!
