Year 6 Humanities Trip to Henley Fort 2026

Year 6 Henley Fort Trip 2026

On Tuesday, the Year 6 girls enjoyed an engaging and immersive World War II experience during our visit to Henley Fort.

They took on the role of ARP wardens, learning about the responsibilities these individuals held during the war, including keeping communities safe during air raids and ensuring blackout regulations were followed. The group participated enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions and taking the role seriously.

The girls also experienced Home Guard training, gaining insight into the skills and drills civilians were taught as part of Britain’s defence efforts. They practised marching drills, which they approached with great energy and teamwork, showing excellent listening skills and a willingness to try something new.

Overall, the trip provided a valuable opportunity for the girls to deepen their understanding of life on the Home Front during World War II. They represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit and engaged fully with every activity.
