Senior School Welcome

Welcome to Notre Dame Senior School, an Independent girls' day school in Cobham, Surrey – whether you are a new visitor or current parent, I hope that you will find this website both useful and informative.

Notre Dame is a girls' Catholic day school which welcome families all faiths and cultures. We are supported by the Sisters of the Company of Mary Our Lady who ensure that the ethos of our foundress, St. Jeanne de Lestonnac, is maintained and enjoyed by all in our community.

Notre Dame Senior School provides a caring environment in which each and every girl is given the opportunity to reach her full potential. We are a mixed-ability school which achieves outstanding results due to the integration of quality pastoral care with dedicated and experienced teaching and hard work on the part of the girls.

This is confirmed by the high levels of personal achievement througout the school, especially the excellent examination results achieved by the girls at both GCSE and A level.

We provide a well-rounded education where girls can excel in sport, music, drama and other disciplines as well as in their academic pursuits. An extensive extra-curricular programme is offered which includes the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, Young Enterprise and Community Service.

You are most welcome to come and visit the school on one of our three annual Open Days or at another mutually convenient time for a personal tour.

“Pupils follow a demanding and imaginative curriculum and are successful in entry to the senior schools of their choice, including the award of scholarships” and “Their personal development benefits from a carefully planned programme of personal, social and health education. Parents and pupils commend the wide range of clubs and opportunities outside the classroom”.

2007 Independent Schools Inspectorate Report

“From the first moment that a student sets foot in a Catholic school, he or she ought to have the impression of entering a new environment, one illumined by the light of faith, and having its own unique characteristics ..."

Fr. Christopher Jamison

"Relationships between staff and pupils, and amongst the pupils themselves, are excellent.   Parents appreciate the care provided for their children. Pupils are confident, caring and keen to celebrate the success of others. Pupils of all ages have outstandingly well-developed personal qualities.”
