Lord Robert Winston Lecture

On Thursday 24th April we were lucky enough to be invited to Halliford School to listen to the inspirational Lord Robert Winston’s speech about his work on IVF.

He spoke about his journey as a scientist, his motivations and obstacles. He was one of the first scientists in the 1970s to develop IVF treatments and later genetic screening, although he remains very humble about it!

He stressed the importance of improving problems in society, advocating for more women in STEM fields, and embracing failure as a means to learn.

We really enjoyed being given the opportunity to listen and learn about his amazing work.
