Netball

U14 – U16 A Teams v Prior’s Field

U16 A v Prior’s Field U15A – Draw 22-11

The team fought hard throughout this challenging game. In the first quarters, the girls started off with strength and determination to push ahead to 7 – 4. The defense worked as a tight unit, restricting passing in and around the circle, having followed coaching points closely. By half time, Notre Dame was still ahead but the gap was narrowing. In the fourth quarter, the attacking players focused on moving into space with good communication, leading to accurate shooting and building their score up at pace. A very impressive display of determination, pulling the result back to a draw. The whole team worked exceptionally hard with impressive determination and resilience. Well done!

U14A v Prior’s Field U14B – Won 8 – 5

The team played well in a competitive game, with only one goal separating them at the first quarter. After this, the girls started linking their play excellently, intercepting in their defensive third and working the ball up to the goal third. They executed both attacking and defensive skills with effort and precision. They managed to pull away in the last two quarters to gain a well deserved victory. Well done to all playing!

Hockey

Year 9 Tournament

U14 Hockey

What a start to the hockey term, hosting a Year 9 B team tournament where, for so many girls, it was their first ever 11 aside game. It was a fantastic morning and that was just the weather!

The girls from all schools learnt so much throughout the morning and it was a pleasure to see their game develop over the different matches. The tournament was won by Gordons who were strongly undefeated. There were some stand out performances by both our goal keepers, Molly and Ava, as well as some really gritty performances from Jess, Becky and Emily who’s work rate really stood out over the morning.

Year 8 A and B v SWPS

Afterschool we also had the Year 8s playing their first fixtures with the As having a really competitive 0-0 draw and player of the match going to both Lily and Talia.

The Bs had a great battle in their game with Olive scoring a great team goal late on in the game to give them the 1-0 win. Michelle was awarded player of the match in this game.

1st XI v Tormead

Wednesday saw the seniors take to the field, with the first team trying out Tormead’s new and very windy pitch! The girls had a great first half with real exchanges of goals, and some excellent goal keeping to keep Tormead’s attacks down. However in the second half Tormead proved to be the stronger team. Great goals came from Freya and Emily with player of the match being tied between both Sofia’s in defence.

Mrs Jelley

2nd XI v Tormead

Well done to the 2nd XI who had a hockey match at Home against Tormead School on Wednesday afternoon. Despite Tormead being the stronger of the two teams and enjoying a comfortable win, ND showed tremendous team spirit and perseverance. Player of the match was Fran S.

Team: Lucy F, Jemima B, Chloe J, Celina F, Lottie M, Olivia S, Audrey J, Clio S, Stella T, Charlotte S, Fran S, Scarlett T
