Swimming Round Up
It has been an exceptionally busy and rewarding term for our swimming teams, with students from U12 to U16 representing the school in a wide range of galas and competitions.
We launched the season back in September with our competitive swimmers taking part in the prestigious ESSA Relay Championships, setting a positive tone for the months ahead. Our Year 7 gala against SWP provided an excellent introduction to senior school swimming, giving our newest swimmers valuable experience—along with a time trial to benchmark their early-season progress.
The momentum continued as our U12 and U13 teams travelled to St Catherine’s for an early-season gala, demonstrating promising form in both individual and relay events. As the term progressed, we enjoyed a busy schedule of fixtures against Manor House, Priors field, and another competitive meet with St Catherine’s, involving all age groups from U12 to U16.
This term also marked an exciting milestone: our first appearance in the Super league. A select group of swimmers joined forces with Reed’s Boys School as we travelled to King’s College, Wimbledon for Round 1. The team delivered an outstanding performance, with impressive swims from Ciara S, Lucy D, Alex B, Martha T, Ava T, Erin S, Darcey C, Lucy P, and Amelia H.
These swimmers then rose to the challenge once again, competing over the following two days in ACS’s Annual International Competition, where they achieved a fantastic haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals across individual events and relays. We also saw strong performances from Alexia V and Emily L, who contributed greatly to the team’s success.
With such a thriving start to the swimming year, we are eagerly looking ahead to the Spring Term, which promises more galas, continued development, and the second and third rounds of the Super league.
Well done to all our swimmers for their dedication, teamwork, and outstanding achievements this term.
