After our hard work in maths this week, Compasses Group had a few minutes of consolidation of learning with Geo Boards!
Geo boards are considered essential educational tools because they turn abstract mathematical concepts into a tangible, hands-on experience. By using rubber bands to form shapes on a pegged board, the group have enjoyed applying skills in geometry, fine motor control, and spatial reasoning.
This week we used them to explore complex concepts like area and perimeter, and revise shapes, namely: triangles (scalene, right-angled, isosceles), regular and irregular polygons such as irregular decagons, and rectangles such as those with area 28cm squared, and perimeter 22cm.
Judging by the looks of our faces, you can see we were having a whale of a time trying to make these complicated shapes!
Well done girls, happy weekend!
