What a fantastic finish to Year 6’s World War II Songs topic in the chapel on Monday!
Over the past few weeks, the girls have been working collaboratively in groups to create ensemble backings for four iconic World War II songs:
White Cliffs of Dover
Run, Rabbit, Run
Keep the Home Fires Burning
Wish Me Luck as You Wave Me Goodbye
A huge well done to all the instrumentalists who practised their parts so diligently and worked closely with their instrumental teachers. As part of this topic, each group arranged their own music from lead sheets and designed their own percussion sections using classroom instruments. The two Year 6 classes then combined forces, with groups joining together to accompany the rest of the year group in song.
The recording session in the chapel was a truly uplifting occasion. The girls performed beautifully, showcasing teamwork, musicianship and a wonderful understanding of the music of the era.
Congratulations to all the girls for their fabulous performances!
