This morning’s Prep School Poetry Competition was a wonderful celebration of confidence, creativity and performance.
We were incredibly privileged to welcome Peju “The Spark” Abuchi as our external judge. Her inspiring words, “Your Voice Matters”, and captivating live performance of one of her poems, completely engaged the audience and left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
The competition showcased girls selected from each class as their strongest poetry performers, alongside a beautifully performed dance by the ERPSSA girls and poetry readings from senior school pupils. The standard throughout the morning was exceptional, with every participant demonstrating courage, expression and genuine talent.
The girls performed poems by Leonard Clark, and we were especially honoured to have his daughter Mary-Louise Clark with us, following the fantastic workshop she previously led with Andrew C Wadsworth, for the pupils.
Congratulations to our winners, Thildie WB (Year 3) and Olivia A (Year 5). A huge well done to all the girls involved for such a memorable and inspiring morning.
