This morning, the girls came together for a special assembly, dressed in their finest outfits to celebrate their cultural diversity. This year, we linked our celebrations to the excitement of the upcoming World Cup, recognising how sport brings people together across countries, languages and traditions.
One by one, the girls took part in our very own Opening Ceremony, proudly walking forward to showcase their outfits with confidence. The room was filled with encouragement as we cheered one another on and celebrated every culture within our Notre Dame community.
Following our opening celebrations, the girls split into their houses, and designed a unique flag to represent a mix of cultures, using colours and symbols that reflected their different identities. They were then encouraged to create a short, positive team motto—highlighting values such as respect, unity and teamwork.
The excitement continued as the girls took part in a lively penalty shoot-out, aiming to score points for their houses. With cheers echoing around the space, each participant showed great enthusiasm, determination and team spirit. It was a wonderful way to bring our celebration to an energetic close, reinforcing the joy of sport and the importance of supporting one another.
