Father’s Day (Always a day to celebrate)
Father’s Day is celebrated differently in the UK and across Hispanic countries, reflecting cultural and historical influences.
In the UK, Father’s Day takes place on the third Sunday in June and is generally a modern, low-key celebration focused on giving cards, gifts, and spending relaxed time with close family. In contrast, in Spain it is celebrated on 19 March, linking it to Saint Joseph and giving it a more traditional and religious meaning.
Meanwhile, in many Latin American countries, although the date is the same as in the UK, the celebrations tend to be more vibrant and social, often involving large family gatherings, special meals, and lively events. Overall, while the UK emphasises simple appreciation, Hispanic countries place a stronger focus on tradition, extended family, and community celebration.
