White Rose Maths and Taskmaster: Learning Through Challenge

The collaboration between White Rose Maths and Taskmaster Education combines high-quality mathematical learning with creativity, teamwork and fun. Through engaging challenges, pupils have opportunities to apply their maths skills in practical and exciting ways.

These activities encourage children to think critically, solve problems and explain their reasoning, while developing resilience and confidence. The open-ended nature of the tasks allows pupils to explore different approaches and learn from one another, promoting both mathematical understanding and collaboration.

A key strength of the partnership is its ability to increase engagement. The playful Taskmaster-style challenges motivate pupils to participate, take risks and enjoy maths, creating positive learning experiences for all children.

By linking mathematical concepts to real-life situations, the activities help pupils see the relevance of maths beyond the classroom. Overall, the White Rose and Taskmaster collaboration provides an inspiring way to develop mathematical thinking while making learning memorable, meaningful and enjoyable.

Our wonderful maths teachers have chosen various tasks to give to our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils during the last few weeks of term, because when children are motivated, engaged and willing to think differently, powerful learning happens! Well done everyone.
