Progression Pathways Programme
(9 + and 10+ Entry): Early Offers
9+ and 10+ Entry to the Prep School
Joining Notre Dame Prep School in Year 5 or Year 6 is a popular and exciting pathway for many families. This is what we call our ‘Progression Pathways’ Programme and this maps the curriculum from Years 5 to 8, ensuring a seamless transition from Prep to Senior School.
Entry Points
Reception Entry
Our Reception class is a single form entry which benefits from remaining within our Early Years Learning Centre. There is no formal assessment for Reception but students are invited to visit our Wise Owls Nursery class with their parent.
Year 3 Entry
Year 3 is one of our usual entry points and we often increase to two form entry to accommodate the new intake.
Year 7 (11+) Entry
The Notre Dame 11+ process ensures a seamless and stress-free experience with our ‘7/26 Program’ designed for families interested in a place in our Senior School for entry in September 2026. Our ‘7/26 Program’ offers key information and invites to events which guide you and your daughter through each stage of the process.
Information and registration is available on our Year 7 Admissions Page.
Year 7 Admissions
Year 9 (13+ Deferred Entry)
Candidates who wish to take up a place in Year 9 (13+) will sit at the 11+ entry point and defer their place. We do not hold Common Entrance Exams in Year 8.

It also has details of general entry requirements and each subject page includes details of subject requirements. Our Sixth Form page has further information about entry to the Sixth Form.
