Yesterday, our drama scholars had the privilege of attending the Open Day at Italia Conti, one of the UK’s most prestigious conservatoires for acting and musical theatre, where they experienced firsthand what life is like as a professional drama student.
The day began with the outstanding Summer Showcase at Woking Theatre, giving our students the opportunity to witness the exceptional standard of performance that Italia Conti is renowned for. They then enjoyed an exclusive tour of the conservatoire’s facilities, participated in a practical workshop with members of the teaching faculty, and concluded the day with an insightful talk and Q&A session with the Deputy Principal.
Experiences such as these are invaluable. They allow our students to raise their aspirations, gain a genuine understanding of conservatoire training, and begin to picture the exciting possibilities that await them beyond school. It was a truly motivating day that has left our scholars inspired and eager to continue developing their craft.
We are especially thrilled that, from September, Notre Dame will become an official feeder school for Italia Conti. This exciting partnership will create exceptional opportunities for our students as they prepare for higher training and careers within the performing arts, and we are incredibly proud to be working alongside one of the UK’s leading conservatoires.
The future of performing arts at Notre Dame has never looked brighter.
