On Thursday this week a group of pupils from Year 3 and Year 4 represented Notre Dame at the annual Diocese of Arundel and Brighton Good Shepherd Celebration.
The Good Shepherd Celebration brings together representatives from each of the approximately eighty Catholic schools in the diocese for a liturgy of joy and community.
This year’s Celebration was held at Worth Abbey, in West Sussex. Last year we had celebrated being ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, the theme of the 2025 Jubilee Year. Building on this, the theme this year was ‘Legacy of Hope.’ Each school had been invited to decorate and bring an anchor, decorated to illustrate something of the uniqueness of each school. The anchor reminds us that it is God that keeps us safe and secure in sometimes turbulent times.
After the liturgy, in which we processed, listened, watched, sang and prayed, we enjoyed a lovely picnic on the lawn in front of the Abbey Church, along with hundreds of other pupils and students from the schools in the diocese.
