U13A Girls v Milbourne Lodge – Friday 22nd May
On a lovely sunny afternoon, the U13A girls played their first hardball match against Milbourne Lodge. Winning the toss, we chose to field first, and the team made an excellent start.
Mila opened the bowling strongly, conceding just four runs in the first over. The bowling unit continued to build pressure, and in the sixth over Lilly claimed a well-deserved wicket in a superb maiden over. In the final over, Mila struck again, taking another wicket and allowing just one run, rounding off a very disciplined fielding performance.
With the bat, openers Mila and Martha got the innings off to a flying start, scoring 17 runs from the first two overs. As the innings progressed, the girls grew in confidence, playing with increasing composure and intent. Their efforts saw them reach an impressive total of 50 runs for 15.
It was fantastic to see the progression from the Prep girls, with several lovely additions to their play and a growing understanding of the game throughout.

U12A vs Milbourne Lodge Friday 22nd May
The U12A girls delivered an excellent all-round performance to secure a well-earned victory over Milbourne Lodge, finishing with a strong scoreline of 281–241.
From the outset, the team played with confidence and intent. In the field, the girls showed impressive awareness and organisation, moving quickly and efficiently into position. Their sharp reactions and determination to retrieve the ball at speed put the opposition under immediate pressure, creating difficulties and limiting scoring opportunities.
Batting was a real highlight of the match. The team displayed strength and composure at the crease, consistently finding gaps and playing with positive intent. A number of well-timed shots resulted in several boundaries, with the girls racking up an impressive tally of 4s that helped build a commanding total.
What stood out most throughout the match was the team’s collective spirit. Every player contributed with enthusiasm and conviction, supporting and encouraging one another in every phase of the game. This positive energy and teamwork played a crucial role in securing the win.
