IAPS Gymnastics Championships

On Saturday 19th November a group of 10 girls took part in the IAPS Gymnastics Championships for the first time in the history of the prep school. It was a learning experience for all the girls and for myself. All the girls learnt a set floor routine and completed a voluntary vault on the day. They were scored on these two events and this added to their individual and team totals.

The U10s didn’t place in the medals but they certainly did themselves and the school proud. Their floor routines were all between 8.0-9.2 and their vaults 7.8-8.2.

The U11 girls did managed to medal with the team finishing 2nd out of the 15 schools that took part and a huge well cone to Evelyn for placing 3rd overall and Holly for placing 6th overall out of approx. 75-80 girls in their category.

U11A and B Hockey v St Teresa’s

Monday afternoon we braved the weather, and the girls played their hockey matches against St T’s. Both A and B games were very exciting, close and competitive! Well done to the B team who won 1-4, with Lexi voted as player of the match and the A team narrowly lost 1-2 with Poppy T being voted player of the match.

U10 Netball v Milbourne Lodge

The U10 girls started netball a few weeks ago and on Monday had a friendly match against Milbourne Lodge. The girls had some fantastic moments of play on court but were unable to score when we got the ball in our D. The ND team lost 0-4 with Lyla being voted player of the match.

Milbourne Lodge came back to play us on Tuesday with their U11 girls. We played a 7aside match, which included the WA and WD positions. The Notre Dame girls played very well and won the game 10-3. They had some brilliant passages of play, which is great to see at the start of their season. Player of the match went to Amelia Hull.
